Lyle and Evelyn Beaver General Recreation Scholarship

Awarded to deserving students at Indiana University, recipients of the Lyle and Evelyn Beaver General Recreation Scholarship have chosen the field of recreation as their major.

Lyle Beaver received his doctorate in recreation in 1963 and remained connected to the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, now named School of Public Health, until he passed away in 1983. In honor of her husband’s commitment to the School and the field of recreation, Evelyn Beaver established this scholarship to benefit deserving students who have chosen the field of Recreation as their major. Mrs. Beaver passed away in 2004 leaving a provision in her will to establish this generous fund.
