Health Education-Secondary Teacher Prep

Academic rigor paired with student teaching experience

As a future health educator, you will develop leadership skills and earn your teaching certification as you take a rigorous combination of core courses in both health and education. Required field observations and student teaching, along with volunteer opportunities, give you the chance to work directly with students and school communities. You may even choose to take advantage of the semester abroad program and complete your student teaching in a different country. Many students who declare this major elect to join IU's chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma, a national health education honorary.

Academic advisors, as well as coaches in our Office of Career Services, are there to support you as you consider your future plans.
