Begin in University Division

Most undergraduate freshmen and transfer students begin in University Division while preparing for certification into one of our major programs.

You'll take classes your first year to fulfill admission requirements for your intended major while making degree progress. Once you successfully complete the requirements, you will be officially admitted to the School of Public Health and the major you are seeking.

The first step is to apply for admission through the IU Bloomington Office of Admissions. If you're an incoming freshman, be sure to apply by November 1 in order to be eligible for the maximum number of scholarships.

Admission requirements for specific majors

If you have not been offered direct admission, then you need to fulfill the admission requirements for the School of Public Health major you are applying for.

Each major within the School of Public Health has specific admission requirements. You can find the requirements for each undergraduate degree program in our school's academic bulletin.
