The Indiana University School of Public Health (SPH-B) is pleased to announce that mainstay Professor Dong-Chul Seo will be the new Chair of the Department of Applied Health Science (AHS).
Seo has served SPH-B faithfully since 2004 as a professor and most recently as Interim Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, where he oversaw the promotion and tenure process. Seo takes over from Professor Eric Walsh-Buhi, who was Chair of AHS for several years.
A Hoosier through and through, Seo earned both of his graduate degrees from Indiana University, including a Ph.D. in Health Behavior and an M.S. in Applied Health Science.
His research focuses on addictive behaviors and co-occurring mental health conditions. His most recent work focuses on interventions to reduce opioid overdose deaths, nicotine/marijuana vaping, and related disparities experienced by vulnerable populations.
