Student Government Conference Recognition Award
The SPH Student Government Conference Recognition Award provides support to undergraduate and graduate public health students seeking opportunities for active conference and workshop attendance.
Eligibility Criteria: All undergraduate and graduate students within the School of Public Health are encouraged to apply. Consideration will be given to all students with the intention of attending conferences or workshops for research presentations (including poster presentations).
To qualify, you must submit your CV and answer two essay questions (150-word maximum for each) about why you want to attend and how it will enhance your academic and professional development. You will be required to disclose other sources of funding that you are receiving as well as a budget and justification for your expenses.
After you have attended your professional development experience, you will be required to write a statement about it (150 words or less) with an attached photograph of your participation.
Proof of attendance will be required for all awardees, in order to receive the award.
Guidelines: You are encouraged to apply for this travel grant before receiving formal acceptance to an event. However, to be considered for an award, you must provide an acceptance letter as soon as possible.
Funds will be awarded throughout the school year for conferences and workshops.
Awards: Awards are given in two tiers: 4 awards for $500 and 8 awards for up to $250.
