Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) Dean David Allison is one of 11 Hofstra University alumni who will be presented with the inaugural Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (HCLAS) Alumni Spotlight Award. According to HCLAS, the award "recognizes alumni who have achieved distinction through leadership and excellence in their field," and honors "alumni who have demonstrated exemplary service to their profession or to their community."
“It is with great gratitude that I will travel to my graduate alma mater for this honor. I am humbled that my mentor, Distinguished Professor Emeritus Bernard Gorman would nominate me for this,” Dr. Allison says. “Many esteemed and successful persons have emanated from Hofstra University. To be recognized among them is truly a gift.”
Dean Allison will receive the award March 12 at a formal event featuring remarks by Hofstra University Provost Charles Riordan and HCLAS Dean Eva Badowska. His fellow awardees are:
