Dean's Welcome and Message
Welcome. My name is David Allison. I am grateful to be a member of the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington and honored by the trust placed in me to serve as our school's dean. Our school has a proud 75-year legacy via its prior incarnations, notably as the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, before being reborn as the School of Public Health in 2012. Our extraordinary legacy is now matched by the equally extraordinarily gifted and dedicated community of public health scholars who compose our present cadre. This devoted and energetic community of scholars works toward an ever-brighter future for all by advancing knowledge and helping others through science and education. The ethos of that bright future is expressed in the image and words below, words that are meant to capture not only our current ethos, but also the spirit and ethos of those future scholars yet to join our community.
