IU School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) is delighted to share that Associate Professor Angela Chow was presented with the Outstanding Service Award from the Asian Caucus of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) this month.

"This prestigious honor is a well-deserved recognition of Angela’s unwavering commitment to service and leadership," said Eric Walsh-Buhi, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Applied Health Science. "Angela’s dedication to advancing scholarship and supporting colleagues (and students) is truly exemplary. She has been an integral part of SRCD for many years, serves as one of our departmental representatives to Academic Council, contributes her expertise to the faculty search committee, and generously mentors early-career faculty through teaching observations and students at all levels."
Among other service to the national organization, Chow has been both a member and chair of the SRCD Asian Caucus since 2020.
According to their website, the SRCD Asian Caucus supports researchers of Asian descent and promotes research demonstrating cultural and ethnic sensitivity, development in context, and diversity across Asian groups.
Chow noted in a recent interview that she joined the caucus because it felt like a place where she could feel "anchored, supported, and connected with others who share similar research interests and lived experiences."
