Academic Council
The Academic Council makes decisions on academic policy as outlined in the SPH-B Constitution and report its decisions to the presiding officer of the faculty and to the faculty at large.

Bloomington Sex Salon
The Bloomington Sex Salon is hosted by Department of Applied Health Sciences professor Dr. Debby Herbenick and is in collaboration with the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at the School of Public Health-Bloomington. It is a monthly community-based speaker series on the topic of sex research, education, and/or advocacy. For a list of past and upcoming events, visit the Sexual Health website.
Distinguished Colloquium Speaker Series
The Distinguished Colloquium Speaker Series is a public health lecture series featuring topics that reflect the school's foundational and multidisciplinary strengths, new and emerging areas of research, and innovative practices. Funding, Fellowship & Scholarships
Several SPH-B funding opportunities nurture and reward excellence in the arenas of equity and diversity.
Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Public Health on the Bloomington campus who are studying or have demonstrated an interest in public health topics focusing on stigmatization, stress, violence prevention, and underrepresentation in minority and vulnerable populations. Applicants must include a three-sentence essay detailing their previous or planned scholarship in this area.
Where there is an equal playing field for every student, there are opportunities down every path. The School of Public Health-Bloomington dedicates itself to keeping that dream alive now and for future generations. Our commitment to diversity goes far beyond opening doors for access and success. This partnership scholarship is an opportunity to provide financial means for many deserving students. The amount of Public Health–Hudson & Holland Scholars Program Scholarship is $1,000 per year. Qualified students may receive funding for up to a maximum of eight (8) semesters of undergraduate enrollment. Contact HHSP for more information.
The Roderick Paige Fellowship was established to honor the service of Dr. Roderick Paige. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration is given to underrepresented populations. Applicants must be admitted to an SPH-B masters or doctoral program and plan to enroll in the subsequent fall semester. Domestic and international students are eligible—if a domestic student, they must be an underrepresented minority (URM) in their particular discipline or program. The amount of funding varies from $2,000 to $4,500 for one academic year. Please note that fellowship amount is also contingent on the number of fellows awarded in a given academic year.
