Alexandra Cottingham joined the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington in August 2025 as a Graduate Recruitment and Student Engagement Coordinator.
Alexandra is a proud two-time alumna of SPH-B, holding an MPH in Behavioral, Social, and Community Health, a Graduate Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health, and a BSPH in Epidemiology. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist® (CHES®).
Before joining SPH-B, Alexandra gained extensive experience in health promotion, research, and student engagement at IU. She has designed and implemented campus-wide health programs as a Graduate Assistant in the Health Promotion Department, advanced college health and wellbeing research as a Research Assistant in the Department of Applied Health Science, co-led sexual health advocacy initiatives with the Sexual Health Advocacy Group, and delivered health education to students as a Peer Health & Wellness Educator at the IU Student Health Center.
In her current role, Alexandra collaborates with the Graduate Engagement, Admissions, and Recruitment team to support prospective students and highlight the many unique opportunities available within SPH-B's graduate programs. She leads external recruitment initiatives for SPH-B, including virtual information sessions, admissions events, and campus visits. Alexandra combines her passion for public health and deep knowledge of IU to guide prospective students as they explore graduate education and campus life within both SPH-B and the broader IU community. In addition to her recruitment work, she also serves as an Adjunct Instructor within the Department of Applied Health Science.
