Dr. Wenxue Lin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Public Health–Bloomington, Indiana University. He earned his B.S. in Biotechnology from Dalian Medical University in China (2014), his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Washington State University (2016), his M.S. in Epidemiology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (2019), and his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine (2022).
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Lin served for three years as an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Temple University, where he taught and mentored both undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. Lin’s research focuses on tobacco control, with an emphasis on reduced nicotine content cigarettes. He has examined two randomized controlled trials evaluating the impact of reduced nicotine content cigarettes on smoking behavior and tobacco exposure biomarkers, particularly among populations experiencing tobacco-related health disparities, such as individuals with low socioeconomic status or mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to clinical trial research, Dr. Lin has conducted secondary analyses using multiple large-scale epidemiologic datasets, including the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS), and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
