Whether you have traveled overseas before or if this will be your first time going abroad, we encourage you to spend some time going through the resources below.
Apply for a passport
You must have a passport in order to study abroad. If you do not yet have a passport, the SPH-B Office of International Affairs encourages you to apply for your passport as soon as possible.

Appointments are required to submit a passport application. Appointments are available from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-1p.m. Saturday
SPH-X 223 requirement
All students admitted into a School of Public Health-Bloomington faculty-led study abroad program are required to enroll in SPH-X 223: Introduction to Study Abroad in Public Health, an 8-week, 1-credit, online, and asynchronous course.
Students will receive enrollment permission after being accepted into their program.
This course is graded pass/fail, and failure to successfully complete the course may result in being ineligible to participate in the faculty-led program abroad. SPH-X 223 prepares students for their global experience through topics such as cultural competency, health and safety, and the academic and professional value of studying public health in an international context.
