Health promotion enables individuals and communities to increase control over and improve their health. Graduate level students acquire skills for serving as health education and promotion specialists in educational, clinical, occupational, and community settings and for managing a diverse array of health education and promotion programs.
You will take core courses in subject areas that include instructional strategies, social and behavioral determinants of health, and philosophy and principles of health education. There will also be opportunities for you to work on research projects with faculty members and fellow students.
With this major in the Master of Science in Applied Health Science program, you will be ready for a career in an wide array of settings, including public and private schools and colleges; local, state, and federal agencies; professional associations; and voluntary health agencies.
