You will complete a core of integrated public health courses as well as specialized studies in physical activity. You may also complete coursework for an additional major or a graduate certificate.
Community engagement is central to the MPH program, and faculty will help you identify opportunities for skill building, networking, research, and practical experience. Students in the physical activity concentration recently assisted with assessments of Indiana University and the City of Bloomington's bike initiatives, as well as the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of IU's Employee Wellness Program.
In your final semester, you will spend in-depth time in the field, preparing you for professional positions such as community health promotion specialist, physical activity epidemiologist, or public health advisor. Whatever career you choose, you will be well-suited to play an integral role in any multidisciplinary team centered on health promotion and disease prevention.
