Tourism Management

A rigorous program with global possibilities

You will take foundational courses in tourism management, as well as specialized electives in subject areas of your choice that you will select with guidance from your faculty advisor. To finish your degree, you must complete a master's project in tourism, hospitality, and event management (THEM), a master's thesis, or a THEM internship. (If you are planning to pursue a Ph.D., completing a master's thesis is recommended.)

Due to its global significance, tourism often involves practices in the international arena. You may consider one of the overseas courses and trips offered by this program that will allow you to explore a multicultural landscape in a fashion conducive to learning. You will also be encouraged to both initiate research projects and work with faculty on existing projects. Your faculty advisor can help you locate information about opportunities to apply for department, school, and university grants to support your research interests.
