A rigorous academic core and hands-on field experience

In addition to the five core areas of public health—epidemiology, health administration, environmental health, biostatistics, and social and behavioral health—you will take specialized courses in subjects such as disease surveillance, data collection and  analysis, and identification of risk factors for infectious and chronic diseases. 

Learning is not limited to the classroom. You will gain practical, hands-on field experience through our required internship program and have opportunities to conduct research and service projects with IU faculty.
