Two recent research papers authored by Dr. Kevin Maki and his colleagues are being featured in numerous prestigious publications.
Maki's research showing that adding lean unprocessed beef to a healthy diet doesn’t adversely affect heart disease or type 2 diabetes risk factors is being featured in The Journal of Nutrition , Medical Daily, and on the Apple Podcast Sound Bites.
In a second paper, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Maki and co-author Dr. Carl Orringer, a cardiologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, emphasized the importance of coronary calcium testing to identify patients who have lower or higher risk for cardiovascular disease events than predicted by traditional risk estimation methods. This work has been highlighted in Medical Express and Science Codex.
In addition to be being an adjunct professor at the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington, Maki is the Founder and Chief Scientist at Midwest Biomedical Research.
