Scholarly Interest
As an extension of his past activities as a sportswriter and sports business columnist, Professor Pedersen researchers, publishes, and presents on sport communication activities and personnel within the field of sport management. Here, Dr. Pedersen is being interviewed by reporters while in Hungary (left photo) and Ireland (right photo).
For the 2013 inaugural special issue of Communication & Sport, Professor Pedersen was one of 16 scholars featured in "Reflections on Communication and Sport: Perspectives from Key Figures." As the editor of the journal, Dr. Larry Wenner, noted in his introduction, "we have called on a group of leading scholars who have been instrumental in charting much of the early course of the field. In this special 'Reflections on Communication and Sport' issue, we have asked them to offer their unique 'perspectives' about an area they have worked extensively in over the years and to suggest ideas about where we need to go in the future. In a way, this group of scholars comprises members of communication and sport's 'Hall of Fame.'" (p. 5).
