Ergonomics

A curriculum that uniquely meets your individual interests and goals

The perspective on ergonomics that you will discover as a student blends the traditional, strong academic programs in kinesiology (biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor control) with other strong academic programs of IU (music, design, information science, psychology/neuroscience, and occupational safety). You will work with a faculty academic advisor to design your curriculum, opening you to a range of educational and career fields, from the arts to industry. Ergonomics students have developed diverse individual programs of study in subject areas such usability, design, rail transportation, wellness, safety, and music.

To complete your degree, you will complete either a master's thesis or an internship. You will also have special opportunities to work in state-of-the-art laboratories and challenging field environments, preparing you for either professional positions in industry or admission to doctoral programs in kinesiology.
