The cutting-edge Nutrition and Metabolic Research Laboratory inside the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington has three distinct areas:
- Metabolic kitchen
- Clinical suite
- Biospecimen processing laboratory
Metabolic Kitchen
The metabolic kitchen measures about 1,000 square feet. It contains two reach-in refrigerators, two reach-in freezers, a stove with two ovens and griddle, dishwasher/sanitizer, ice machine, three-compartment sink, microwave, and tools and equipment (including scales and thermometers) for food preparation. It also features a 200-square-foot dining area to serve participants.
