Master of Public Health

You'll choose between seven different concentrations, allowing you to focus on an area that aligns with your career goals.

If you'd like, you can also select a second concentration—or a graduate certificate—to complement your primary degree concentration.

Throughout your time as an MPH student, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with School of Public Health faculty members whose own research addresses some of the most pressing public health issues facing the world today.

The program culminates in a required internship your final semester at an organization focused on public health.

I appreciate the freedom that the School of Public Health provided me in finding an internship that could be both a full-time, paid position and the start of a fulfilling career path.

Where coursework and the real world come together

As an MPH student, you'll have the opportunity to spend your last semester in an internship working directly with a public health organization. During this field experience, you'll be actively involved in projects and day-to-day activities taking place in the organization—all preparing you for life after graduation.

Master of Public Health students from IU have completed internships throughout the country, including at the Indiana State Department of Health, IU Health, the CDC, and the World Health Organization.
